Music Camp 2010 at Retta Baptist Church!
What Is Music Camp?
Music Camp is a creative outlet for those kids who love to sing and dance and act. And it's a chance for parents to help their kids grow creatively in a healthy and safe Christian environment. The visible goal of the week is for the kids to learn and perform a dramatic musical with a Christian message, but the ultimate goal is to use music and drama to teach the kids important biblical lessons and build a love for God’s people and God’s church. This year’s musical is an allegory about learning God’s Word, the Bible!
Registration Fees
$25/child; $20/each additional child from a single household. Need-based scholarships are available! This fee covers all music and production costs, t-shirt and snacks, a listening CD, quality music and drama instruction and Bible study, high-energy fun, and solid Christian experience!
How to Register
There are several ways you can register. (1) Download the Registration Flyer at the link below; fill that out and mail it to the address on the flyer. (2) Contact Matt Ward, the camp director, at the church or at his email (matt@retta.org) to let him know your child is interested. He'll tell you what to do next. (3) The next time you're at Retta Baptist Church, pick up a registration flyer in the main auditorium and give it to any of our office personnel.

Important Information: Auditions
During Music Camp, we will learn songs, Bible verses, actions, lessons, and more that help us know God's Word better. But in the process, we will also be learning a full-length musical that we will actually perform on Friday night!
That means that we will need kids to sing solos, play characters, and learn lines on top of everything else that all of the other kids will be learning. Because it takes an extra-special commitment, we audition kids to play our speaking parts. Sometimes everyone gets the speaking part they want, but sometimes everyone wants the same part. We ask for all of the parents to be supportive of the process no matter how it works out.
Audition Times
We have a group audition scheduled for Sunday, July 18, at 4:30 pm at Retta Baptist Church. That will give us time to assign parts and the kids several days to begin learning their lines. We understand that you may be out of town that day - if so, please let Matt Ward know so he can schedule an extra audition.
Drama Rehearsal
Each day of camp from 12:30-2:00.
The kids with speaking parts and solos spend more time at camp than the other kids. Most kids go home at 12:00 (before lunch). Drama kids have to bring their lunch so we can eat together quickly and start rehearsing! It sounds like a lot of work, but we make it a lot of fun!!
